We've
completed our first trade! Yup, I've now got two
brand-new poker books available for barter.
I did
much better than I expected - The two books are in fact new,
not used.
Congrats (and a huge thanks) to Vivian, who lives in my
city, the new owner of the lucky monkey.
Vivian's willingness to trade with us was the result of "one
part amusement at the entire idea, one part fondness for the
lucky monkey, and one part pity", she explains.
Thanks to everyone who made offers (some serious, some
smart-assed) on the monkey. Rest assured he wound up in
good hands.
What
will we trade for next? That set of poker chips? A
photograph of Tiger Woods autographed by Phil Ivey? A
second-hand log-splitter? We'll have to see.

Now onto my score - the poker books. The first is
, and the other is a literally hot-off-the-presses copy of
, a brand-new title (published this week) by Lou Krieger, the author of
. The two books make a nice package; they're both paperbacks and since they're both recent titles they're written with today's game in mind.

I'm impressed by Gordon's book and the buzz around Krieger's new title has been good. Poker for Dummies was the first poker book I ever read, so I was excited to see the new one - but sticking to the plan I'm putting both up for trade, unread and pristine. Again, seeking something bigger and better.
Same deal; if we agree to trade something,I will come and get it, or at least pay shipping costs.
Want to trade me something for two brand-new poker books? Make me an offer!

Hope to trade with you soon!

P.S. We're going to keep trading up until we get at least one World Series of Poker Main Event entry/trip package, which we will then give to a Stacksback.com customer. We will chronicle all progress and trades in these pages.
How The Stacksback Stuffed Monkey could send you to the WSOP
If our trading game is successful (and we're optimistic it will be) and we ultimately trade up for a WSOP package, here is our commitment: we will run a small online poker tournament, with the winner taking the package.
The tournament (dates and details obviously still pending) will be open to anyone who:
A) Is an active Stacksback customer (currently playing poker on an account created via our links)
B) Completes a trade with us along on the way
C) Introduces us to someone who trades with us
We have only so many active players at any given time (a couple of dozen usually) and the chain of trades will only be so long, so your chances in this tournament will undoubtedly be the best shot at a WSOP Main Event seat anyplace on the internet.
Check back often, or propose a trade with us. The more unique the trade item, the better.
