Tournament leaderboards often called TLB, for short, are highly
competed tournament promotions ran by various poker sites. Right
now the most coveted TLB titles for American players are the
Bodog, Full Tilt and Absolute Poker Leaderboards. Here is a quick
guide to the various promotions each site offers.
 |
All
players competing in Multi Table tournaments at Bodog earn
points towards their monthly and weekly tournament
leaderboard promotion. This promotion pays the top 30
monthly players and the top 15 weekly players with free
tournament dollars. Additionally the winner of the weekly
tournament leaderboard will face either David Williams, Josh
Arieh or Evelyn NG in a $1,000 prize pooled heads up
freeroll match. You can find full details on the
Bodog TLB Promotion page of their website. |

The Absolute Poker tournament
leaderboard promotion is very popular amongst their
tournament players. The weekly winner faces Mark Seif in a
heads up match for at least $1,000. Each week Mark wins,
the prize pool rolls over to the next week.
Additionally each month the
top 100 TLB point earners are invited to play in a $2,000
freeroll. The top 50 annual points leaders are invited to
play in a $20,000 freeroll in which |
the overall winner will receive a $10,000 WSOP main event seat.
The remaining $10,000 is divided between the remaining top 5
finishers.
The Absolute Poker TLB is one of the more widely recognized
amongst their own players, in that most other players at the
tables are typically aware when they are playing against one of
the top runners in the race. This can be used to a players
advantage as weaker players will begin to give TLB champs a lot of
extra respect at the table as they become scared to play hands
against them.

Absolute Poker Website
Full Tilt offers 3 different TLBs which all award prizes on a
monthly basis. Points are awarded separately for High Limit and
Low Limit Sit and Go tournaments and all Multi Table Tournaments
are run together. Below is the payout chart which is quite
generous. For full details visit the

More Tournament Leaderboard Promotions:
Poker Stars also runs a TLB
promotion but the only prize is a heads up match for the first
place winner. PokerStars is the largest site in the world which
makes it very difficult to win their TLB race.
Poker World runs a TLB
promotion but the prizes are rather small - though not bad
considering how small of a site they are.
